At Beloit, students come from all walks of life and experience levels. You can participate as someone looking to pursue a degree in music or major in theatre or dance, or as someone who’s just trying your hand at a performance art.

Imagine the possibilities

At Beloit, your can focus on dance, design & technology, music, and theatre performance. You’ll work with visiting artists, be a part of student and faculty performances, and create your own work.

Small classes and one-on-one relationships with faculty enable you to cultivate your artistry through collaboration, investigation, the refinement of skills, and the contextualization of your work using theory, history and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Department participants have various opportunities to perform, design, and create throughout the year at the Hendricks Center for the Arts, engage with the local community, and see the world.

The department of performing and applied arts serves all students—majors and non-majors, listeners, performers, scholars, risk-takers, and creators.

  • Your Major: With any major you can participate in performances, lessons, classes, and ensembles.
  • Athletics: You can take part in the performing arts and play sports!
  • Community: Find like-minded peers and make friends.
